“Creating always in the same way is boring, that’s why on each canvas or paper I try to approach the work in a different way. It is common for me to use eroticism as a language to explain certain circumstances that occur inside me. Eroticism is almost never an end for me, just a language, a language, perhaps a vehicle to explain what I want or need at any given moment.
Art is immense. I would love to explore all its ways. I feel that it gives me the possibility of being completely honest. For me, honesty is based on being completely naked, that’s why the people I paint are always naked. I couldn’t talk about honesty with clothed people, as clothing is already a type of disguise.
It is not my goal to represent the reality that is seen with the eyes. My work has an autobiographical point, I portray the reality that I feel inside, the one that moves me, excites me, and that I love. Why do we call realism what resembles what we see, but not what we feel? Is the reality that we look at with our eyes more real than the one we perceive inside, through sensations such as pleasure or pain? Aren’t these the sensations by which we notice our body and consequently our existence in a tangible world?”
